Andrea Zanardelli was born in Brescia (Italy), on 23 April 1975. He is a teaching professional golfer, PGA member since 1999. He currently lives in the beautiful area of the Garda lake, running his own golf academy at the prestigious Palazzo Arzaga Golf Club. TPI and AimPoint certified, he is part of the world famous coach Chuck Cook staff. Fitness fanatic, he is author, among many others golf books, of “Fit 4 Golf”, the most important eBook about golf fitness in Italy.
2000 – 2005
From 2000 to 2002 he worked as a teacher at the Golf Club Bogliaco. In the same period, he started the Golf Club Colombaro and the Golf Club Serenissima.
From 2002 to 2005 he co-led the prestigious Palazzo Arzaga Academy together with Donato di Ponziano and Nicola Pomponi. Together, they traveled several times to India to follow the Indian National Men’s and Women’s training.
In 2004, already at 28, a spokesman, who took part in an annual seminar about teaching in the Italian PGA.
2006 – 2010
In 2006 he launched GOLFACADEMY.it, the first Italian web portal for online golf classes, which has soon become the most followed national website for golf, a reference point for thousands golfers.
In the same period, with his colleague Alfredo Da Corte, he opened his first school in Brescia, at the Bresciagolf Country Club, where he still teaches.
From 2005 to 2009 he was council member of the Italian chapter of PGA, the Professional Golfer’s Association for Italy.
In 2007 he and Alfredo opened the Golf Academy Shop & Distribution, a golf equipment and clothing shop, and settled a company for the distribution, at the national level, of golf products, among which Bridgestone Golf stands out.
In 2008 he designed and patented MyLine, a training tool to teach and train putting. This tool is currently used by the best professionals in the world and by the National Italian Golfers. It is distributed in Europe and the USA.
2011 – Today
In February 2011 he received an official assignment by the Presidency of the Tenth Senate Committee to consult on the drafts legislation 2367 by Ministers Brambilla, Matteoli, Prestigiacomo, Bondi, Fitto and 1471 by Senator Filippi dealing with golf tourism and the development of golf fields.
In May 2011 he attended a training course to join the teaching staff of coach Chuck Cook, with whom he now organizes golf clinics in Italy.
Just one month later, he obtained the TPI Certification at the Titled Performance Institute, Washington DC, USA, for the functional evaluation of the golfer’s athletic fitness, to identify any mobility fails and body parts stability that might affect the swing’s efficacy.
In September of the same year, he attended a club fitter course in Gainsborough, UK, at the European seat of PING, leader on the custom-fitted equipment market, obtaining the qualification of PING Authorized Club Fitter.
In 2012 he began to train as Personal Trainer at the National Personal Trainer School in Milan, where he obtained the Golfsmith certificate of Club Maker. Moreover, he became V1 Pro Official Reseller for Italy, the best and most known software for the swing video analysis.
In 2013 he obtained the Official Fitter certificate from True Temper, the shaft company in Orlando, Florida. In the same year, he officially joined the Chuck Cook school, obtaining the qualification of Certified Balanced Golf Teacher. He was selected, among other professionals all over the world, to take part to the #askthepro program on Twitter, to help golfers.
During the summer of the same year, he obtained the qualification of AimPoint Certified Instructor: he is now the only authorized professional to teach the most advanced method to read the green, as ideated by Mark Sweeney.
In October 2013 he attended the TrackMan workshop on the ball’s flight and impact dynamics held by Edoardo Molinari at the Golf Club Castello di Tolcinasco.
To develop his professional skills, Andrea attended many international seminars and conferences on golf teaching. He often travels all over the world, especially in the United States, to visit the most renewed schools and golf facilities, and to meet the best international teachers, golfers and golf businessmen.
From an agonistic point of view, besides many Pro-Amateurs competitions, every season Andrea takes part in Italian tournaments of the Alps Tour (the third-level European professional circuit), the Italian Pro Tour (the national professional circuit) and to qualifications of the Open Championship, the Omega European Masters and the Open Italy.
Besides video tutorials he daily publishes online on the www.zanardelligolf.tv portal, he realized DVD tutorials, wrote digital manuals (ebooks) and collaborated with magazines and TV programs, both at the local and national level (Rai and Sky Sport).
He is passionate about architecture and psychology. His dream is to write that one and only last exam in technical physics, to get his MA in Environmental Architecture at the Politecnico of Milan. Who knows… maybe one day we will give his mother Chiara that satisfaction!
